While heavy foot traffic is ideal for selling on the street, here are some tips to help you maintain a smooth business on the street.

- Specialize in items which are small and easy to transport. Imagine dealing in furniture? This is nearly impossible to do on a crowded street. Instead, try to sell items which you can display many of on a table or two.

- Keep your merchandise physically safe. Always have plastic tarps on hand to cover your goods if unexpected rain falls, and make sure you set up shop in an area that decreases your chances of you or your inventory getting hit by a vehicle.

- Beware of illegitimate “customers”. There are people out there who are scammers and might be able to either outright steal from you while you least expect it or otherwise get merchandise from you in a fashion other than that you have set forth as a business plan.

The street can be a dangerous place, but it can also be a profitable place to. By following the laws and transactional rules of selling items on the street, you are sure to keep safe while enjoying it as well as making a profit most importantly.
