This post is to let you know about the fact that many companies see the change in the reccent economic fiasco in consumer behavior.

Since the average consumer spend less on clothes ( specially name brand clothes) venders can feel the economic impact. This year venders such as Macys expect a drop of 40% compare to last year in sales( imagina, last year was not the best year, to say the least)

Many liquidators and wholesalers have moved on and began selling more basic need products to such as health and beuty items, mostly cosmetics.

Today you can see companies offering wholesale cosmetics by loreal, maybelline, revlon, max factor, cover girl and more.

For the most part the cosmetics lots will be assorted and can be sold by pallets. It will be shelf pulled from drug stores and will contain mascaras, foundations, lipsticks, make up and more.

Top Five Wholesale Clothing Companies

May 1st, 2009 joe 3 comments

For the last four weeks we gathered data about the top five clothing wholesalers and liquidators online.

The craiterias are based on:

1. Companies hunesty ( based on the Better Business Bureau ( www.bbb.org) review

2. Years in business

3. Companies size

4. Type of merchandise and prices.

We also listed the worst wholesale clothing companies. For legal reasons we did not list their names.

The top companies are

wholesalefashionsquare.com (no complaints the last 3 years on the bbb.org) specialize in non branded clothes in full cases sizes.

www.merchandizeliquidators.com ( no complaints in the last 3 years on the bbb.org)  Deals with clothes but also cosmetics, general merchandiseand more. Clothing are mostly assorted and not in full cases . It has lines of department store overstock clothing which can contain name brand clothing as well as non branded clothng. Its wholesale clothing merchandise is sold in larger lots than avarage.

apparelshowroom.com. Was bought our by redtagclothing.com in 2008 but was the first company to bring junior clothing in small lots of 6-12 pcs to the internet. It is located in LA California and has more than 40,000 clients.

Redtagclothing.com, as medtiond above it was the merger with apparelshowroom. it has closeouts of non branded tops. Average price per piece is $5.75. Located in LA  CA as well.

Genco.com. Now this companie is one of the largest liquidation companies in the USA and has an average gross sells of 750 millions a year. Genco is incharged of the processing and selling all the sears, Kmart and othere chain stores.  Although there are some complaints on the BBB it is understandble due to a very large amount of clients. Anothere reason is the way the merchandise is liquidated (salvage and costumer return with damage goods.)

Bad Economy = Stores Bankrupt= Merchandise Liquidation = New Opportunities

December 1st, 2008 joe 1 comment

Here is how the little man can take advantage of the bad economy. More than 30 chain stores are closing some of their stores and many other stores declared bankruptcy in the last few months. These stores include Foot Locker, Home Depot, Circuit City, Ann Taylor, Linens ‘n Things, and Macy’s. I will provide a list of all sources needed to buy closeouts from these stores and will explain how we may benefit in the long run.

For every catastrophe, there is a new business opportunity, at least according to some people. When Macy’s closed down a few of its stores (nine so far), all the inventory was processed and moved the liquidation center in California or New Jersey. From there, it was sold to a liquidation company that broke down the inventory into small categorized lots (men’s clothing, men’s shoes, women’s designer clothes…) and then sold to the public. The goods were sold for about ten percent of the retail cost.

The liquidation company usually has a contract with Macy’s and agrees not to advertise Macys’ name. Meaning, if you run to a site that claims to sell Macy’s overstock goods, it is probably a broker company that buys from the authorized liquidation company. The liquidation company for Macy’s is Merchandize Liquidators. For the most part you can find wholesale clothing sold in pallets. You can find this type of liquidation sold in stores like Ross and Marshalls. What most people don’t know is that just about anyone can buy this clothing in bulk and sell on their stores. For Walmart Liquidation ( yes they also have a liquidation program) the company to contact is Jacobs Trading.

5 Clothing Items to Buy Wholesale

July 31st, 2008 joe 1 comment

In terms of retail, we all know that clothing items and their respective accessories make for a most popular type of merchandise, and not only that, one that makes up billions of dollars in the retail world. You too can get a cut of this wealth buying clothing items wholesale and then turning them around for a profit. Here are some examples of things you can buy wholesale.
- Sunglasses. Many people wear them, they are both a necessity and a fashion statement.

- Shoes. Very profitable as they too are both a necessity and are closely related to current fashions.

- Pocket books or hand bags. Women love to stay in fashion by buying these also very necessary accessories.

- Jewelry. Low cost jewelry such as earrings and rings can be had at low prices and sell well on the street

- Watches. These are both a necessity and often time also classify as jewelry or another type of accessory in general.

All of these types of clothing accessories are extremely popular sales items whether it be sold by street vendors in New York City or by your own self on online auction sites. Doing this is incredibly easy once you have an idea in mind of what it is you want to sell and how you’re going to do it, such as where you will sell and for what kind of profit. Clothing items can indeed be a lucrative avenue for you to take if approached with care and creativity.
